Phillip comes from a long line of joiners, cabinet makers
and undertakers in Derbyshire. One of his ancestors was
Joseph Moritn, a carpenter who was able to bury the plague
victims in the brave village of Eyam, having himself become
immune due to surviving the awful disease.
Phillip’s training started in Buxton, where he worked
on specialised restoration and was offered a job at York
Minster, eventually moving to the Fylde Coast purchasing
at auction his beloved five acre small holding which was
to become Beechdene.
